>> My name is Tana Harper. I am a 2013 graduate from USC, and currently I work at a cable network in television research. Days-days are never really the same, but normally at least I can count on having to send out a daily ratings report. So we have different software that we use. Nielsen is one of the biggest ratings companies, so we use Nielsen software. My company also uses a software called Rentrak Television Essentials. It is basically just kind of an Excel sheet, but a website, and you pull-put in your network, put in what time you're looking for and whatnot, you hit a button, and it gives you all this data. And so yeah, my job is to kind of take what we need from it, because there is a lot of data. And it can be an overload, especially for people who don't really speak the language of research. So my job normally is to take what we need and be able to send it out in a concise and way to format that that everyone can understand. Normally sending out ratings on, in some capacity, whether or not it is for a network or maybe for competitors, but we also have, we assist the programming department, marketing and ad sales department. So sometimes they are doing various projects, and they need our assistance, so we get ad hoc requests all the time. So one day I could be working on something for programming, or another day I might be working on helping marketing, with one of their projects as well.
