Karis is the Director of Financial Planning for Memorial Care Health System. Located in southern California, her main role is to work with all the system’s campuses to create accurate budgets for the year.

>> My name is Karis Christner, and I am the Corporate Director of Financial Planning for MemorialCare Health System. So MemorialCare stretches from Long Beach all the way down south to San Clemente. And in the recent years, we've embarked in a journey where we've become a fully integrated health system. And my role in the organization is to manage the operational budget and capital budget for the system. Our budget season is from January through June. And throughout the budget season, myself and my team we go to each of our campuses and we meet with management and help them complete an accurate budget. I'm also in charge of teaching our Finance and Management class. And that class is really geared toward new managers and directors coming into the organization. And the goal of that class is for each of those managers to leave knowing full well how to read our financial reports and how to manage the productivity.
