Adam is a Communications Coordinator at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. His main responsibility is to raise the visibility of MIT as well as the research done at his lab.

>> So my name's Adam Konersimons [phonetic], and I lead communications efforts at MIT's Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Lab which is the largest research lab at MIT. So I'm basically responsible for we're raising the visibility of MIT and see sale and the research that's done there through communications and media outreach, whether that's writing pitches for news stories that I'm trying to get journalists and other taste makers to promote, or if that's creating programming for MIT and see sale related events that might help spread the message of the important work that they're doing to the wider public. One of the big projects that we've worked on is trying to get a lot more young people excited about programming and coding. So this past year we organized an event tied to the Hour of Code which is an international initiative to get young people excited about computer science. And we brought in about 200 students from local inner city schools in Boston to get them to take a look at some of the robotics and computer science projects that are happening at the lab. So in a typical day I'll come in and work on updating the social media and Google alerts to keep a better tab on what's going on at MIT. And then I'll work with different professors and researchers about their work and kind of map out the coming days and weeks in terms of what sorts of projects to promote and how to best maximize the potential visibility of the school.
