James Riley III is a Computer Science student at Morehouse College with a strong interest in offensive cybersecurity, cloud technologies, and emerging technologies. Guided by Morehouse College’s mission of developing disciplined minds for lives of leadership and service, he is preparing for a career in cybersecurity, with a particular interest in red team operations and penetration testing. Inspired by the opportunity to help organizations proactively identify and mitigate security vulnerabilities before they can be exploited, James is committed to strengthening cyber resilience in an increasingly interconnected world. He is also a Co-Founder and Secretary of the Progressive Black Men, Inc. Morehouse College Chapter, where he is helping establish a strong foundation centered on scholarship, leadership, service, and brotherhood.
This summer, James is serving as a Tech/NIS – Global Cybersecurity Intern with PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) in Atlanta, Georgia, where he is gaining hands-on experience supporting enterprise cybersecurity initiatives, strengthening his technical and consulting skills, and learning how global organizations identify, assess, and manage evolving cyber risks. He is also participating in the CodeHouse Cybersecurity Bootcamp, an intensive program that provides practical training in cybersecurity fundamentals, threat identification, digital defense, and hands-on Capture-the-Flag challenges while preparing students for careers in information security.
During Spring 2025, James expanded his technical expertise through the Google Cloud Career Jumpstart Program, where he developed foundational cloud engineering skills while preparing for the Google Cloud Associate Cloud Engineer certification. He also serves as a PwC Campus Ambassador, connecting students with opportunities in technology, consulting, and cybersecurity while helping foster pathways into the profession.
Recognized nationally for his academic excellence and leadership, James is a Management Leadership for Tomorrow Career Prep Fellow and has participated in nationally competitive leadership and career development programs, including the UNCF Toyota Scholars Program and the UNCF Lighted Pathways Career Readiness Program. He is also a former Adobe HBCU 20×20 Fellow and has earned competitive scholarships and fellowships from organizations including the Executive Leadership Council, the United Negro College Fund (UNCF), the Thurgood Marshall College Fund, and Lockheed Martin, reflecting his sustained commitment to academic excellence, leadership, and professional growth.
As he continues to build his technical expertise and professional experience, James aspires to become a cybersecurity leader specializing in offensive security, helping organizations anticipate emerging threats through red team operations and penetration testing while strengthening the resilience of critical digital infrastructure. Through continuous learning, technical excellence, and principled leadership, he is committed to advancing a more secure and resilient digital future.
