HBCU Rising is an innovative, two-tiered group-mentoring initiative designed to strengthen STEM and literacy competencies while sharpening the critical thinking skills of middle school students. The program features college mentors from the Atlanta University Center who dedicate four to six hours per week to tutoring and mentoring students at Price Middle School, King Middle School, and Herman J. Russell West End Academy. In addition, mentors participate in monthly professional development sessions and receive a $1,300 stipend for their service.
